Researchers and students from #SINTEF Ocean and# NTNU visited #Lerøy Norway Seafoods in Båtsfjord to understand the production planning systems and procedures used by the company. Through several master student and post-doc projects, different models and tools to support the current production planning practices will be developed for this highly complex planning environment.
In the end of August, we got to present the results from our research done on board the trawler “Molnes” to the crew, and other employees at Nordic Wildfish at Valderøya. It was a dynamic and fun presentation with many good discussions. The report is now available at SINTEFs web page, or from here Report Molnes.
Last week the logistic team from Norwegian University of Science and Technology and Sintef Ocean working together in the projects #QualiFish and #IProcess had a joint meeting informing students writing project thesis, master thesis, PhD and post docs about the projects and the Norwegian whitefish industry.
In the middle of September several of the #QualiFish researchers attended the World Seafood Congress (WSC) 2017 in Reykjavik. The focus of WSC 2017 was growth in the Blue-Bioeconomy, practical approach and cutting edge research for market innovation, food safety and food integrity. Three presentations were given from the project as well as two posters covering everything from quality and safety of thawed cod, to differences in information sharing and feedback between fishing vessels and producers between Iceland and Norway.

A short film about the project and some of the results have been summed up in a short QualiFish movie. The movie has been presented at the World Seafood Congress in Iceland, as well as being precented to industrial partners in the #QualiFish project, and will also be presented during theis years WEFTA in Dublin.
